Fortnite: What’s Next?

“Fortnite NEEDS an update.” I feel like this is what a lot of people are saying these days. Others go extreme and say, “Fortnite is DEAD.” Well, truth be told I’m starting to get sick of the gameplay right now, especially after the multiple season postponements. Normally every season brings new gameplay, loot pools, and locations. I feel that’s what’s needed for Fortnite to remain popular. In this post, we’ll talk about possible leaks and also what Epic should do to keep people playing.

The Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 Map.

Possible leaks

Leaks have bean pouring in claiming a flood is coming to Fortnite. This could happen because of Midas’s Doomsday device, a tsunami, or even the Hydro 16 Dam breaking.

If you look around Lazy Lake, you will notice that there are some blue pieces of paper with some images on it. Many of them describe a flood coming such as Meowscles with floaties on his biceps and Peely swiming in the water with a SHARK underneath him.

You also may have noticed that No Sweat Insurance has come back after failing to save Tilted Towers from the Volcano. It looks as if they are planning to save certain locations from the flood that is coming.

As seen in the note to the right of Swimming Peely above, it looks as if the checked locations may float when the flood comes. Talk about new gameplay. If I missed an Insurance Covered location, comment below and I’ll be sure to fix it.

Now let’s look at the flood differently. I mentioned that Midas’s doomsday device may be the thing that causes the flood. If you’ve been following the Fortnite story-line so far, you would have noticed that almost all the outposts that Midas built fell into Shadow’s control with the Grotto and Rig now being controlled by Shadow. I think that Midas is planning to destroy those outposts with the flood that is coming because the aren’t covered by No Sweat Insurance and will therefore be flooded and destroyed.

Midas

So, Midas is obviously evil as seen in his Trailer below.

It appears that he has been pretending to lead team Ghost but is actually plotting an evil plan. and it looks as if everyone on Team Ghost and Team Shadow who found out about his plan were eliminated and Midas took their helmet as a trophy. But wait. Are the helmets real? Here is an example of how they might just be a replica to scare off others.

If you look closely at the helmets, you’ll notice that Ghost Agent Lynx is one of them. But then as you look to the left of Midas’ room, you’ll notice that a golden figure of Lynx is there also.

I think the golden statue and the helmet are BOTH fake. I also think that Chaos Agent is fake too for the following reasons. A new skin of Lynx shows that she went into hiding after Midas found out she knew his plans. She may have left a decoy that Midas mistook for the real Lynx. Also, Chaos Agent was featured in the item shop not too long ago but a new version of him. This one showed his mask off and underneath was an inky substance like Midas took his helmet but didn’t actually eliminate him. This proves that Chaos Agent and Lynx are probably not dead.

Chaos Agent

This brings us to the last part of the Flood leak. You can notice to the right of Midas’ room is the armor of a skin called Tempest. Tempest is a skin that in the description of him in the item shop says “can harness the power of the storm”. Since his armor is in Midas’s room, he might use it to call on the storm so much it floods the map.

What should fortnite do?

This brings us to the part about what Fortnite should do to remain popular. At the start of Chapter 2, we were introduced to the small loot pool of the next 4 months. At first it was fun having such a small variety of weapons but then using the same weapons over and over got old. I do think it was good of Fortnite to get rid of a lot of loot because the Season 10 loot pool was just crazy.

Personally, I love the Combat Shotgun and was heart-broken once it got vaulted so, that’s too bad. Even that aside, it would awesome to have some of the old weapons return.

Another thing I think Epic could do is add more vehicles. Right now we have the boat (Which is okay…) and the Choppa (WHICH I HATE.) There used to be so much mobility and I’d like that to return.

Or just keep most of them vaulted. Really. As long as the B.R.U.T.E. doesn’t return I’m fine.

And finally, and I know this is kinda farfetched but if the OG Fortnite map returned I think TONS of people would pour in to play. That is probally never gonna happen though so RIP OG Fortnite map… 🙁

Annnddd… That’s it for this Blog post! I know this was kinda a lot of information to take in but hopefully you liked it!

And if you’re reading this during or after season three don’t comment how much I got wrong because believe it or not, making posts about leaks is HARD.

  1. Wow, great run down Noah! What changes do you recommend fortnight makes to those playing on cell phones? I don’t care for the buttonology on the cell phone app.

  2. Totally agree with your assessment. The tribe and I have not been playing FN like we used to – a refresh is needed. I hope that Epic goes big and come up with something pretty new because the gameplay is getting kinda old.

Very well written and insightful. AND the layout is fantastic! I really like the balance of images, videos, and text. Nicely done! I have played Fortnight once or twice, so I don’t know much about it. However, I did see an Ark with a bunch of animals in it in sector 6. So, maybe a flood is coming? The irony of this topic being a possible flood and the blog being written by Noah is awesome! Well done, well done!
